You may be eligible if you:

  • Are an adult
  • Have been diagnosed with asthma, bronchiectasis, or COPD
  • Have had frequent chest infections or signs of inflammation in the past 12 months

You would not be able to take part if:

  • You have completed pulmonary rehabilitation in the past 12 months
  • You are unable to participate in study activities
  • The study team feels that participation may not be suitable for you

What is involved?

This study is looking at whether a home-based pulmonary rehabilitation and self-management program can help reduce hospitalisations and improve health outcomes.

Participants will receive either standard care or a home-based rehabilitation program, depending on the study group.

  • Study duration: Approximately 12 months
  • Clinic visits: Up to 3 visits

What will I need to do?

If you take part, you may be asked to:

  • Take part in a home-based pulmonary rehabilitation program over 8 weeks
  • Follow a self-management plan for your condition
  • Attend up to 3 visits at a hospital or pathology provider
  • Provide information about your health, including hospital visits and symptoms
  • Take part in assessments, which may include:
    • Blood tests
    • A brief telephone survey

The study team will monitor your health outcomes over time, including hospitalisations, flare-ups, and overall wellbeing.
